Hello! My name is Bethany (she/her/hers) and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT). I received my BA in Psychology from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. I completed my Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Adler University in Chicago, IL. I spent the first seven years of my therapy career working in community mental health agencies with children and families in mostly rural communities.
I have a specific passion for working with LGBTQIA+ teens, adults, and families; I work hard to make my therapy space a safe, welcoming, and affirming environment to honor all identities. Through my own personal experience of infant loss and postpartum anxiety, and by accompanying my sister through years of infertility, I have also found it a great privilege to specialize in perinatal, postpartum, and infertility mental health care. I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and have worked extensively with survivors of sexual assault and sexual abuse.
When I am not working with clients, I stay busy spending time with my people. I grew up in Eugene, OR (go ducks!). My spouse and I spent time in the Midwest before settling in Puyallup in 2015. I am a mom of two energetic, strong-willed kiddos. I have one senior cat (she might pop in during our Telehealth sessions!) and seven chickens who make me laugh and share their delicious eggs daily. I love to bake; chocolate cake, chocolate chip cookies, and sourdough bread are my specialties. I like to stay active to compose my restless spirit, so you can also find me out walking, visiting the tigers at the zoo, getting strong at Wolf Heart Fit Co., or paddle boarding on the sound.
